Who is a Mommy-come-lately?
Have you ever heard the phrase “Johnny-come-lately?” It’s an old-fashioned term that means someone who comes to something late—and excels at it.
Thus the title of this Web site: Mommy-Come-Lately®, devoted to women who experienced pregnancy and childbirth later in life.
More and more women are embracing motherhood in their mid-thirties and forties. Most Mommies-come-lately agree: A late start at motherhood—or for some women, a restart—enhances your ability to succeed as a mom.
What’s on the site:
- In the News provides up-to-date information about issues of interest to Mommies-come-lately
- The Doctor’s In provides answers to a late-in-life mom’s
basic medical questions. - MCL Blog gives you a glimpse of my life as a late-in-life mom. Other women will join me as guest columnists.
- The Photo Album provides a glimpse of other Mommies-come-lately. Please add your photo to the album!
